This use to be one of our favorite places to eat in Cadillac. Unfortunately so so much now. They changed my favorite soup (hot and sour) it is not good now. All the fried food taste like very old oil. Steak in the beef dishes is super dry and tuff so it is hard to chew and the chicken dishes have too much fat on the meat. Super sad about the taste and changes in the food.

Immediately seated. REAL CRAB in their dishes!!! Not the imitation stuff so if it is cut like the ones in my dish (the seafood sizzler platter), make sure you shell them and watch for the (I always called them crab tendons...those clear hard bits that run through the center of the meat) . Pot stickers, won ton soup, egg rolls, and egg drop soup are ALL PERFECT. The shrimp, honestly couldn't have been better cooked! Great snap to it and the veggies were just as wonderful! My boyfriend got the dragon phoenix and I have to say that we really enjoyed the chicken and both preferred the lighter sauce over the brown sauce so I think next time I will try the seafood medley dish with the light sauce. Overall those cooks did an absolutely wonderful job. I am pretty picky about the food that I go out to eat because I enjoy the whole experience. The atmosphere was quiet and calming. Seemed quaint and honestly humble considering the masterpieces that came out of the kitchen. This food is definitely good enough that I'd make the extra drive to come here before I'd drive to Traverse City for their food. Literal 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend. The server was wonderful as well but could've been a little more attentive.

Szechuan chicken came with soup, chips and fried rice. The portion of rice was very less and the curry was not that good, full of carrot, less chicken. Service could be improved, because she mistakenly took an extra order of fried rice. Fried was good, came with crab Rangoon which was tasty.

I have mixed reviews, we walked in and the lady asked how many walked us to our table and kept walking, we had to seat ourselves... The waitress on the other hand was AMAZING! Her name was Diane and she was very good at what she did. She never let our cup get empty. The food was ordered and at our table fast. Our service was outstanding. Hope to get her every time! Thank you again, Diane...... Ok back to the place itself. They had Pepsi cups but coke products. The silverware was old and very scratched making it look dirty. The place itself was cozy and relaxing. P.s... The price was way worth the rest thank you House of Hunan for the great food and service.

For a small town, this has to be one of the best Chinese food restaurants I have ever been to. The service is always great, and the food is just as good. Everything is made fresh and served in very large and steaming hot portions. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. One time I went in and they gave me a free treadmill. I still have it! Haha! I highly recommend this restaurant.

I usually love this place but recently had a horrible experience. Once a week I treat myself to their fried rice as lunch so as usual, I called in a pickup order for a side of fried rice. Upon arrival, I was told my total would be $10 and some change. (For context, it is usually $5.35 when I’ve ordered this in the past). Out of shock, I asked where the $10 came from and why it was no longer $5, the lady at the front counter explained in a very harsh tone that during lunch they only had one option of rice, the vegetable fried rice, which is what I had wanted. Still not answering my question of why it was $10, I grabbed a takeout menu to show her the price on the menu for a side of fried rice, which read $3.50. She promptly grabbed the phone behind the desk and began yelling at presumably the people in the kitchen to cancel my order. She then looked at me and began yelling at me stating that I should’ve ordered the vegetable fried rice and not fried rice if I wanted to pay the $3.50 compared to $10. Mind you, at this point the whole restaurant is watching her yell at me in shock. Trying to compromise, I apologized and said I will take the $10 worth of vegetable fried rice since it was already prepared and that is what I wanted anyways. To which she replied if I ever order fried rice again I need to say vegetable fried rice. I understand people have bad days, but I felt it was unacceptable to be treated that way considering I was a paying customer. Their fried rice is good, but not worth the hassle of being treated that way.

The culinary experience here varies, drawing both praise and critique from patrons. On one hand, discerning diners have raved about the use of real crab in their iconic dishes, such as the seafood sizzler platter.
